Day 1 — Morning

Hotel Pickup & Drive South

Hotel pickup at 06:30 AM from your hotel in Tunis, Hammamet or Sousse. Travel the A1 motorway south through Sfax, then west toward Gafsa and Tozeur. Comfort stops and a roadside lunch on your own at a recommended local restaurant. Arrive Tozeur around 3:00 PM.

Day 1 — Late Afternoon

Mos Espa: The Phantom Menace Village

Drive 30 minutes from Tozeur into the Sahara to Mos Espa — the still-standing pod-race village built for Star Wars: The Phantom Menace (1999). Walk among the iconic Tatooine architecture, photograph the buildings used as Watto's junkyard and the Skywalker family home, and watch the late afternoon light turn the desert gold. Optional 4x4 access to nearby Mos Espa annex sets.

Day 1 — Evening

Tozeur Palm Grove Hotel & Dinner

Check into your 3-star hotel inside Tozeur's historic palm grove — traditional tabout brickwork exterior, private en-suite room, palm-shaded terrace. Dinner included on-site: Berber tajine, Tunisian couscous and homemade bread. Optional sunset stroll along the palmery canals.

Day 2 — Early Morning

Ong Jemel & 4x4 Desert Excursion

Early start (06:00 AM) for a 4x4 excursion to Ong Jemel — the surreal "Camel's Neck" rock formation used in countless Tatooine establishing shots. Visit the nearby Mos Espa annex sets and the Star Wars Canyon. Return to Tozeur for late breakfast at the hotel.

Day 2 — Midday

Chott el Jerid Salt Flats

Cross the surreal 5,000 km² Chott el Jerid salt lake — used as the exterior establishing shot for the Lars homestead at sunset. Stop for photos at the salt crystalline lookout points, sample local dates at a roadside stall, and learn about the Lake's seasonal pink/white color shifts.

Day 2 — Afternoon

Sidi Driss Hotel: Luke Skywalker's Home

Drive east to Matmata. Visit the legendary Sidi Driss Hotel — the underground troglodyte courtyard used as Luke Skywalker's childhood farmhouse in Star Wars: A New Hope (1977) and re-used as the Lars homestead interior in Attack of the Clones (2002). Original 1977 set props remain in place. Lunch on your own at the hotel's café.

Day 2 — Evening

Return Journey

Comfortable return via Gabès and the A1 motorway. Arrive back at your hotel in Tunis, Hammamet or Sousse between 9:00 PM and 10:30 PM depending on starting city. Drop-off at your hotel door.
